When to book

I recommend booking your milestone session at least 4-6 weeks in advance to ensure we can capture those special moments.

These moments go by in the blink of an eye. One day they’re sitting up, then standing, walking, and suddenly celebrating big milestones like Pre-K graduation. Milestone sessions are all about preserving those fleeting stages you never want to forget—the tiny details, sweet expressions, and joyful smiles that make this season so special.

As a mom, I know how quickly babies change, especially during the first year. Every few months brings something new, and capturing those moments now means you’ll have them forever. I would love to help you freeze time and create heartfelt, timeless images you’ll cherish for a lifetime.

The Ember Package

Details

A $100 non-refundable retainer is required at time of booking and a signed contract to secure your session. All packages come with hand edited, high resolution digital images on an online downloadable gallery. Immediate family members only.

The Clover Package

$275

(Ages 4-14).

This package includes:

Offers a minimal setup featuring a seamless background, without props, and is designed specifically for children ages 5-14.

The Hazel Package

A custom themed styled sessions designed to bring your vision to life! Whether you're dreaming of a baseball, lemon, watermelon, floral, or boho theme, the possibilities are endless.
Access to our client closet (boho-style outfits, 9–18 months)
12 fully edited, high-resolution digital images delivered in a downloadable online gallery

For children older than 2 years, a larger backdrop is required, which incurs an additional fee of $75.

Preparation

Pre-Session Tips

Maintain Routine: Try to keep your child in their normal routine as much as possible leading up to our session. This helps them feel comfortable and at ease.
Ensure Adequate Rest: Depending on the session time, ensure your child has a full nap. Please avoid skipping their regular nap on the session day.
Bring Essentials: Pack puff snacks for fussy times, extra bottles, and any other necessities to keep your child happy and content.
Warming Up: When you arrive, I will allow some time for your child to warm up and get accustomed to me and the camera. This helps in capturing their natural expressions.
Outfit Planning: If you have a special outfit from home that you'd like your child to be photographed in, please let me know in advance. This allows me to plan the session and setup accordingly. (Note: We also have a client closet)

During your session

At our studio, we understand that babies and young children have short attention spans, so we move quickly to capture those precious moments. Our posing and setups are tailored to what your baby or child can do comfortably.

Planning Your Session

We always plan our sessions in advance. If there's something special you want to include, please let us know ahead of time. Our ever-growing collection of client wardrobe options, props, and backdrops ensures that each session is unique and memorable.

Important Guidelines for a Smooth Session

*Teething Babies: If your baby is teething, please provide them with appropriate pain relief before the session. A comfortable baby makes for a successful photo shoot!

*Sick Babies: If your baby has been sick within 48 hours of the session, please inform us immediately. Symptoms to watch for include facial sores, fever, and discolored nasal discharge. We will happily reschedule to ensure your baby is happy and healthy. Maintaining a germ-free studio is essential, especially since we work with newborns.

Post session

Once your milestone session is complete, the next step is all about you. At R&A Photography, we believe that these are your memories, and you should have the chance to choose the photos that mean the most to you. That’s why we provide a proofing gallery, so you can handpick the images that truly speak to your heart.

After you’ve made your selections, we’ll carefully take each photo and ensure it is beautifully edited with the utmost care and attention to detail. Our goal is to preserve the love and emotion captured in every image, creating final portraits that are as special and meaningful as the moments themselves.
